SOTTO JOINS KAPIHAN: Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III tells the media that the Senate has been consulting local government units regarding President Rodrigo Duterte’s proposal to appoint barangay officials, during the Kapihan sa Senado on Thursday, April 06, 2017. Sotto said that while many local officials have expressed openness to another postponement of the village polls, many are also apprehensive about the possibility of “holdover” posts, while others reject the idea of appointed village officials altogether. “We have been trying to get the majority’s view on this issue, since it is the majority view that we will suggest to adopt,” he said.
