EXTENDING NO-COLLATERAL, LOW-INTEREST LOANS: Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero, chair of the Senate Committee on Banks, Institutions and Currencies, asks officials of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on the possibility of extending a no-collateral, low-interest loan to graduates of any courses offered by the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA) or duly accredited learning institutions with approved overseas job contracts. “This bill proposes a special loan for graduates of the TESDA and other educational institutions duly accredited by the Commission on Higher Education with approved overseas jobs contracts. It is hoped that, with the necessary credit facilities, these graduates will be able to defray the cost of securing employment in other countries,” Escudero said.
