APPOINTMENT OF 28 MILITARY OFFICERS: The Commission on Appointments (CA), headed by its chairman, Senate President Franklin M. Drilon, approved the ad-interim appointments of 28 senior military officials, led by Armed Forces Vice Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant General Romeo Tanalgo (6th from left) during the plenary session, Wednesday afternoon. The appointments of Audit Commissioner Isabelle Dasalla-Agito and Civil Service Commissioner Nieves Osorio, together with five ambassadors were deferred after Senate Minority Leader invoked Section 20 of the CA’s rules, which allows a member to move for the suspension of the consideration of nominations or appointments.
