2k SSS PENSION HIKE: Sen. Cynthia Villar, chair of the Committee on Government Corporations and Public Enterprises, sponsored the committee report on the bill increasing by P2,000 the pension of 1.9 million Social Security System (SSS) retired members. Villar said the pension increase is a small way of rewarding retirees for their hard work during their productive years. The Nacionalista Party senator also asked her colleagues to adopt the version passed by the House of Representatives, House Bill 5842, to expedite its passage into law.
