DRILON WELCOMES YOUTH SUPPORT FOR BBL: Senate President Franklin M. Drilon receives a copy of the petition from the Coalition of Moro Youth Movement (CMYM) expressing their support to the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law, in a courtesy call on July 28, 2015. The CMYM petition, which contained 547,231 signatures by Muslim youth from different provinces in Mindanao called for the BBL’s passage. The CMYM is a coalition of more than 100 Muslim youth organizations.

In stressing their support to the BBL, Marjanie S. Macasalong, CMYM chairperson, said that “if we have peace in Mindanao, it will not only be for that region, we will have peace all over the country. The budget the government is using to buy ammunition and weapons, if that could be used or diverted to education, infrastructure such as roads and bridges, then I think the country will become even better."
