QUESTIONABLE PHILHEALTH CLAIMS: Senate Blue Ribbon Chair Senator Teofisto “TG” Guingona III presides over the continuation of a Senate inquiry on Thursday, July 23, 2015, on the alleged spurious claims filed by certain eye doctors with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) for operations performed on their patients. According to Guingona, a new, stricter law with harsher penalties should be enacted to go after criminal syndicates which defraud the health agency through fake or bloated claims.
