COCO LEVY: Senator Cynthia A. Villar, chairperson of the Senate Agriculture and Food Committee, urges her colleagues to support the proposed measure declaring the coco levy assets a trust fund and providing for its management and utilization. In her sponsorship speech, Villar stresses that once the bill is enacted into law, it will resolve the decades-old issue surrounding the coco levy trust fund. She says it would definitely benefit the country’s 3.5 million coconut farmers and spur the growth of the industry.
