BIGGER PIE, BIGGER SLICE: Sen. Koko Pimentel, chair of the Select Oversight Committee on the Local Government Code of 1991, discusses a proposal which seeks to expand the tax base shared by the national and local government, and at the same time give local government units (LGUs) a bigger tax share. Currently, Pimentel said, the sharing is 60 percent to 40 percent in favor of the national government.
