INSURANCE COMMISSION AT 66: Senator Cynthia Villar leads the celebration of the 66th Anniversary of the Insurance Commission with the theme, “Alleviating Poverty through Inclusive Insurance Protection.” She thanks the people behind the Insurance Commission for serving our poor people through micro-insurance. She stresses that the poor, compared to the other sectors, greatly needs risk protection against death, injury and illness, loss of property, and other contingent events. Without any risk protection, the poor are very vulnerable and susceptible to unforeseen circumstances that will prevent them and their dependents from improving their lives and overcoming poverty once it happens. Also in photo are: (From L-R): Ferdinand George A. Florendo, Deputy Insurance Commissioner, Insurance Commission; Atty. Emmanuel F. Dooc, Insurance Commissioner; Dorothy M. Calimag, Vida T. Chiong and Atty. Dennis Antonio B. Funa, all Deputy Insurance Commissioners.
