AMBASSADOR URABE PAYS COURTESY CALL: Senate President Franklin M. Drilon presents outgoing Japanese Ambassador Toshinao Urabe a gift in appreciation of his efforts to promote closer relations between Japan and the Philippines, during the latter’s farewell call at the Senate of the Philippines on 27 August 2014. During the call, Urabe expressed his support for the Mindanao peace process and economic reforms being undertaken by the Philippine government. Drilon congratulated the Ambassador for facilitating the visits of the Japan-Philippines Parliamentary Friendship League (JPPFL) to Manila in 2012 and 2014.
