PHILSUTECH: Senator Cynthia A. Villar, chairperson of the Senate Agriculture and Food committee, underscores the need for our sugar industry players to be more competitive in case imported sugar flood the local market due to the ASEAN Economic Community Integration in 2015. In her keynote address during the Philippine Sugar Technologists (PHILSUTECH) 61st National Convention at Waterfront Hotel Cebu, she tackled the legislative support being afforded to the sugar industry particularly the proposed Sugarcane Industry Development Act of 2014.
