ANA KALANG FESTIVAL 2014: SEN. Cynthia A. Villar, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, commends the local government officials and residents of Nagcarlan, Laguna, for living up to the title as the “Vegetable Basket of Laguna” and “Vegetable Bowl of Southern Tagalog” through their industry and hard work. In her speech during the town’s Ana Kalang Festival, Villar acknowledges the concerted efforts of the town’s 52 barangays, together with their government and the private sector, to spur the growth of their vegetable industry. She assures her Office is open to help them in their concerns as she has been a staunch advocate of livelihood projects.
