JUSTICE AND PEACE ADVOCATES AT THE SENADO: Former Senate President and Liberal Party senatorial candidate Frank Drilon taps the shoulder of former Justice Secretary and Lakas-Kampi senatorial candidate Silvestre Bello as he explains his point during the Kapihan sa Senado news forum Thursday morning. Drilon and Bello, both former peace negotiators during the Aquino and Ramos administrations, advocated for the creation of a permanent and independent peace commission that will negotiate peace with the National Democratic Front (NDF) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). They lamented that government negotiators change every time a new admistration takes over, resulting in inconsistency in policy. (A Senate PRIB photo) |
