MIRIAM AT PGH TODAY: Santiago donated P16 million to the PGH in 2005 to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment for diagnosing gastrointestinal and cardiovascular diseases. She followed this up with another P6 million allocation to the PGH for the renovation of the control room medical call room, and medical auxiliary room; and the provision of medical gas facilities.

In 2008, she allocated another P12 million to purchase endoscopic ultrasound equipment for the new gastroenterology center of the PGH.
