PRICE OF PAN DE SAL: Senator Mar Roxas inspects the products of a bakery in Cebu City. Such bakeries may be forced to raise the price of pan de sal by as much as P1 per piece, to cope with the increase in costs such as of flour and oil. The Senator said the government could help put a stop to the rise in pan de sal costs by suspending the value-added tax (VAT) on oil products, which are a major input affecting costs of all goods, in order to ease pressure on bread makers and the consuming public.
