PRESIDENT ROXAS STATUE UNVEILING RITES : Senator Mar Roxas (center) and Manila Mayor Lito Atienza (3rd from left) lead the unveiling of the 10-foot bronze statue of the late President Manuel Acua Roxas on a 2,788-square meter lot along Roxas Blvd. cor. Pedro Gil St., Malate, Manila to commemorate the 57th death anniversary of Roxas, who was the first President of the new Republic and the last President of the Commonwealth. On this site will rise the proposed Roxas Memorial Center that will house the Kalayaan Museum and Library featuring a memorabilla room, an exhibition gallery and a digital library which will focus on the struggle of Filipinos for freedom from foreign rule from 1915, until 1955, during the national reconstruction after World War II.
